Apple MacWe have produced this page to help answer questions about how to autorun files on Apple Mac. To link to this page use this URL http://www.autorun.co.uk/mac.htm Creating autorun files for a macIt is possible to create CDs which contain DOS/Windows (ISO 9660) and Mac (HFS) files: often called hybrid CDs. Macs are unable to use the AutoRun (autorun.inf) facility which works on PCs but there is a Mac facility called AutoStart which works (System 9 or below only) if QuickTime 2.0 or later is installed and AutoStart is enabled. If you will need to write discs with Macintosh files on them, it is probably preferable to work on a Macintosh. Toast software from Roxio, (Buy Toast software), enables hybrid CDs to be created. Learn how. Mac OS X and autorunMac OS X does not support any type of autorun facility. Mac System 9 and autorunMacs with System 9, or below, do have an autoplay facility which requires QuickTime 2.0 or above. However, most Macs will have the autoplay facility disabled. Creating autorun CDs on a mac which need to run on a PCWhen creating an autorun.inf file ensure that the autorun.inf file is saved in PC format. |
